Begin the United Front

We all like to choose a profession that will give us fulfillment, joy, respect, and accomplishment.  Most importantly we want to make a good living.

So why did you become a teacher when some of the most important elements are missing... specifically respect and pay?  North Carolina teachers salaries are considered to be at the bottom of the scale.  How do you like being only ahead of Mississippi and West Virginia?  And as far as respect the North Carolina Legislature, along with the states new Governor, have decided that teachers can live another year without seeing an increase in pay.  And despite your protests things haven't changed and more than likely will not in the foreseeable future.

Where do you go from here?  You can start by mobilizing every teacher you know and make a stand.  Start by FLOODING your state representative with letters to let them know where you stand!  Join every Moral Monday you can.  But most importantly use the one power you have as an American.  Vote out those legislators that insist that all is well in academia and support the candidate that will work for the benefit of all educators in the state.
